I love working in immigration law, because it enables me to learn about the world through the clients I meet, while helping them solve problems affecting their lives and their families.
Following lifelong interests in languages, geography, and history, I lived and worked in Ethiopia and China before going to law school. Then, as a law student, I was able to work on asylum and cancellation of removal cases for the University of Washington’s immigration law clinic, and I found that immigration law combined the study of issues that had always interested me with a devotion to service that had brought me to law school in the first place.
I speak Amharic and basic Spanish.
